  • Change Your Look with Cosmetic Colored Contacts

    Published July 29th, 2008
    by Mike Rigby

People are forever changing and with that change, some go to great lengths to change themselves physically as well as spiritually. Going on a diet, taking up a hobby, starting a health kick are all changes that everyday people are constantly making and now they can even change the color of their eyes with the use of cosmetic colored contacts. Cosmetic colored contacts are not reserved for those that have problems with their sight but are made to appeal the masses. They come in a wide variety of colors and many different styles that is sure to please even the fussiest of buyers.

Unless you have worked in either the movie or theater industry, chances are that you would not have been accustomed to cosmetic colored contacts in previous years. These lenses were primarily used as special effects tools in most movies involving creatures of the dark like zombies, vampires etc… Today, these same contact lenses are available to the public and are used for anything from a Halloween party to someone just wanting to change the color of their eyes.

Various Types Of Cosmetic Colored Contacts

Special effects contacts are produced in mass or can even be custom made. The only difference between the two is the price. The idea behind each lens can usually be traced back to popular movies and are often associated to a particular character within that movie. An example of this would be the film The Lost Boys.

Today, you can also use generically mass produced cosmetic colored contacts to completely change your eyes. It is even possible to change your eyes to looking like cats’, snakes’ or even wolves’ eyes without affecting your normal vision.

If you want to make more of a statement, you could even get special effects contacts that look like zombie or blind eyes. These lenses look like a solid white milky substance that covers your eyes. The only problem with these lenses is that you are not able to see through them hence the reason why you will see people only wearing one lens at a time.

If you want your eyes to look like that have been engulfed by fire, then fire eye contacts are the way to go. Black sclera contacts will give the impression that your eyes are filled with black motionless oil. You can even have your eyes looking like mirrors or use hemorrhaged eye contacts for blood filled, veins popping eyes.

If you are only after a slight change, why not use cosmetic colored contacts to only make your pupils look larger than they really are or even make your eyes glow in the dark.

Whether you only want to just change the color of your eyes or look like a creature from a scary movie, you can rest assured that there is a pair of cosmetic colored contacts that will fit the bill. However it is good to note that although you may not have any problems with your vision, a prescription from an eye doctor is still required for you to buy cosmetic colored contacts.
