Entrepreneurship: 5 Qualities Required To Become A Profitable Online Business Owner
Published September 16th, 2009Many people would like to quit their steady jobs and start their own businesses; however, becoming a business owner is not for everyone. An entrepreneur has to have the following specific personality characteristics in order to be successful.
Essential Character Qualities:
1) Initiative - There are a number of fundamental skills and personal traits that an entrepreneur should have, but they can all be summarized as a self-starter who has a fondness for making things happen; one who is an “actor” in the game of life, not only an observer.
2) Leadership and Authority - An entrepreneur will need to “sell” his/her ideas to a wide variety of people, probably starting with a financial backer, and continuing through a renewable stream of contacts with both suppliers and customers. Honesty and integrity are vital.
3) An Upbeat Outlook Rather than a Unenthusiastic Thought Pattern – An entrepreneur must be able to perceive the positives in any event and to visualize a positive outcome, regardless of the problems or barriers one might currently be experiencing.
4) A Good Imagination and Ability to Design or Innovate – An entrepreneur must also be able to step outside the boundaries of present thinking and limiting assumptions, and to think “outside the box,” including the ability to spot opportunities where others see only limits and problems.
5) Capability for Accepting Justifiable Risks – Risks are there in any enterprise, and the entrepreneur must be able to immediately and accurately assess the risks embedded in his/her anticipated business, and then must have the courage and grit to act when the opportunity is right.
In essence, an entrepreneur recognizes a problem that is not being solved - and builds a solution satisfying the desires of a distinct market segment.
A person who can creatively solve problems in the environment, retain self-control and self-discipline, along with a positive attitude as well as the desire and determination to succeed will do just that - succeed.
If you are missing some of these characteristics, enterpreneuring may not be the best answer for your future success and financial security; however, if you do share the above characteristics, you too can become a successful business owner.
