Membership Sites, How To Get One Up And Running On The Cheap
Published November 17th, 2008Membership sites are a lucrative way to earn recurring, passive income. Internet businesses that run membership sites are raking in the cash. They can rely on a specific amount of money to come in each month which eases their minds while padding their pocket book. My membership sites enable me to know that at the first of the month; virtually all of my bills for the coming month are already taken care of.
So you’ve decided that you want to create a membership site and get in on the money making action. This leads us to our first question.
Question #1: I want to do my site as a membership or subscription site. What is the cheapest way to do that? Can you do a call on this topic like the one you did on eBooks? That was awesome!
Answer: I’m thinking about doing a separate call on this topic. Stay tuned.
The cheapest way to set up and continually build a membership site is to create a sales letter. The sales letter has a link that people click on to start their membership. Use 1Shopping Cart to handle the subscription process.
Question #2: What should you include in the membership site? How should it be formatted?
Answer: Create a regular website page and put all your content on this site. In front of this content page have a username and password login for members to complete. You can find scripts that will create this login feature for you. This enables you to password protect your page. It allows people to login to your membership website using a username and password.
When people sign up, set up an Autoresponder in the shopping cart that emails them. Have it automatically email them the username and password. Give everyone the username and password. If they cancel, they will think they will have one up on you because they have the universal username and password, but who cares!
Now on to a common questions about ping programs.
Question #3: Pingo is no longer working, which is my favorite. Do you know if this is coming back? Other then ping-o-matic, I love Go Ping because it can still do everything. Do you have other ping programs that you recommend?
Answer: I started off using ping-o-matic. I’m currently using a program called RSS Submit. I like RSS Submit better. It is a piece of software loaded on my computer that has all the information that I need. It pings everything. It sends me off to about 152 locations. I think it cost about $30, but don’t hold me to that specific cost.
